PHP4 Sunset

If your web site is currently configured with PHP version 4 and you have secure server enabled, you will need to immediately upgrade your secure code.

We have long offered PHP5 to clients, but there was no urgent need for you to make the upgrade until now. However, a recent PCI compliance issue required us to upgrade our web servers with only PHP5 included. It should be noted that PHP5 has been around since 2004 and PHP4 has been considered end of life since 12/31/2007 with the last update done on 8/7/2008.

For those of you who wish to do the upgrade yourself, just let us know when you would like to make the switch and we will enable PHP5 for you. Here is a migration guide.

If you would like us to handle the migration for you, please call or email customer service and we will take care of it for you. Our development rate has not changed and is billed in quarter hour increments. As always, you will only pay for the time it actually takes for us to make the switch.

We will maintain a single PHP4 server for the non-secure portion of sites for the foreseeable future so that you can make the change there in a controlled manner, however, we will eventually eliminate that service in the interest of security. The secure server side has already been switched and PHP4 will not be offered for secure server.
