Level 3 Outage Today
The upstream bandwidth supplier Level 3 had an outage this morning that effected the entire Southeast US. Their explanation is as follows: "Level 3 reported an event in the Southeast region which caused a disruption in Layer3 routing and BGP peering status. This was due to Level 3's core switch reboot."
None of our equipment was effected by the outage. Service was reported as restored at 1:03 pm. However, at about 4pm, the Level 3 link was again discovered to be flapping, resulting in disruption in Network traffic causing instability for approximately 20 minutes between 4:00 PM - 4:20 PM CT while engineering teams de-peered from the vendor.
