Bounced Message Spam
Spammers sometimes use email addresses of real folks to send mail in order to avoid spam rules that look for bogus addresses. This is happening more and more often and may happen to you soon if it hasn't already. When it does, your address will be bombarded with Non-Delivery Receipts (NDRs) or what you may recognize as a bounced message with a subject such as
Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender or similar. Unfortunately, there is not much you or we can do about it except wait it out. When it happens, it will typically take 2-3 days and they will stop. If we block NDRs, then legitimate mail bounces will not be delivered. As a result, there isn't a satisfactory automated way to respond to this nonsense.
